Welcome to GP at Hand!
Once your registration has been processed by the NHS, we will send you a message to let you know that you are registered with us and can start using our services. You might get a few different messages from the NHS when you register with a GP, which can sometimes be confusing. We’ve therefore summarised the key things you need to know below, but if you have any questions at all, please send us a message, or give us a call!
How to book an appointment
We have telephone and video appointments available with our range of Clinicians 24/7. To book an appointment, click on the link below to go to our Smart Triage tool. Click on “Adult medical request” (or “Child medical request” if you are booking for your child) and you will be taken through a few quick questions to work out the best Clinician for you to see.
Book an appointmentHow to get help with admin queries, Fit Notes, forms, travel health or other questions
If you need some help from us but don’t necessarily want or need an appointment right now, you can also send us a message. We’ll get back to you within one working day. Click the button below to go to our Smart Triage tool, then select “Questions and admin”.
Questions and adminHow to view your medical record
You can view your medical record from the NHS App. If you are not already signed up for the NHS App, you can download this from your App store and follow the instructions to register for a new account. You can also access all the NHS App functions on the web if you don’t have a compatible device.
Get the NHS AppHow to order repeat prescriptions
If you have repeat prescriptions set up with your old GP, these should transfer across to us. You can then reorder these from your NHS App when you need to.
Order via your NHS AppSometimes, we have to reauthorise prescriptions from your previous GP the first time, so if you cannot see your repeat prescriptions in the NHS App after transferring to us, please send us a message via the “Questions and admin” area of our Smart Triage tool, under “Repeat prescriptions”.
Questions and adminWho will I see?
We provide appointments to our registered patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can book a video or telephone appointment with any of our team of experienced clinicians, including:
- GPs
- Advanced Nurse Practitioners
- Nurses, Pharmacists
- Mental Health Practitioners
- Physiotherapists
Most issues can be dealt with without needing to visit our practice – we are the pioneers of digital-first primary care in the UK and our clinicians are highly trained and experienced with digital consultations.
When will I need to see someone in person?
For those occasions when you do need to be seen in person, you can choose from any of our state-of-the-art clinics across London. Located within easy reach of transport hubs, our clinics are purpose-designed to ensure you get the best experience and care.
If, during your digital appointment, you or your Clinician feel that you would be better seen in person, they will send you a link you can use to book this straight away.
How does my digital appointment happen?
Most digital appointments will initially be by telephone, except for appointments for skin issues, for children, or with our Physiotherapists, which will initially be by video.
Telephone appointments
- Your clinician will call you on your registered number at the time of your appointment.
- Please allow us a few minutes if we are running late with another patient.
- If needed, the appointment can be switched to a video call.
Video appointments
- You will receive a text message from your clinician at the time of your appointment.
- Click on the link in the message and follow the prompts to allow us access to your device’s camera and microphone.
- You’ll then be connected to your clinician.
Any other questions?
You’ll find answers to many other questions on our Information and Services pages, in our Frequently Asked Questions, or by searching our site. But please give us a call or send us a message using our “Questions and admin” service above if there is anything else you need to know.
